Fat freezing/cryolipolisis / body contouring
What is Cryolipolysis?
Cryolipolysis is a way of removing fat by freezing fat cells in a controlled environment. Studies has shown an average fat reduction of between 15 and 28 percent at around 4 months after initial treatment. The treatment is known as, fat freezing, lipo freeze plus many more. The treatment works by freezing stubborn pockets of fat so that the body disposes of these fat cells naturally. The procedure can remove stubborn areas of fat such as saddlebags, love handles and double chins. It can effectively reduce areas of fat resistant to diet or exercise with fewer side effects than traditional procedures such as liposuction.

With a special applicator, a vacuum is generated and put onto the skin. The controlled freezing leads to a melting of fat cells. The released fat is broken down to the normal metabolic process.
Cryolipolysis is used for removing certain areas of body fat that are just under the skin to contour a person. Evidence supports its effectiveness at three to four months.
It appears primarily applicable to limited discrete fat bulges.
Transient local redness, bruising and numbness of the skin are common side effects of the treatment and are expected to subside. Typically sensory deficits will subside within a month. The effect on peripheral nerves was investigated and failed to show permanent detrimental results. No serious long-lasting side effects were encountered during follow-up time of six months.
