Acne

Acne is a very common skin condition that most people are affected by at some point in their lives. Acne can appear on the face and body and is caused when the tiny holes on the surface of the skin (known as hair follicles) become blocked by dirt, oil and other impurities, which can then become infected by the normally harmless bacteria living on the surface of your skin. Acne is commonly caused by the increase in testosterone levels among both boys and girls during puberty, and can also be brought on by pregnancy and other hormonal changes, as well as certain medications or lifestyle habits. Sometimes, the cause of acne is unknown.
